"The gift of movement should be cherished." - Flip Aguilera
Week 3 of the 30 day Zouk challenge is here. It's crazy how fast its going by. When you choose to commit to something and keep your focus on it. Time goes by. Of course that may be the case because this challenge happens to be a fun one. But imagine having to wake up at 4:30am after having to go to a dance class that ends at 11pm. It's not the easiest schedule to maintain. Especially when you understand that lack of sleep is one of the major players towards lacking quality in life. Thank goodness it's only twice a week.
Now imagine being Zoe where you are focused on regaining your movement from an accident. I'm not sure what she feels on the inside, but I do know that it probably doesnt feel pleasant a lot of the time.
As I mentioned before Zoe's accident was major. To make a long story short. Her whole right side was crushed while she was unconscious underwater after a boating accident.
Broken Leg & arm in several places.
Zoe was airlifted to Jackson Hospitals trauma center where they had to stabilize her, and then take on the task of putting her back together. It took several surgeries over the span of a few weeks to get her back together again.
Needless to say she is back together, and with a passion to move and very importantly dance. Her perseverance has been amazing for those around to witness. It's such an honor to be working with her on recovery and on this 30 day project. Next blog will be on her recovery process. I invite you to follow along with us on this journey. It will culminate on April 16th with a recital at VK Dance studio located 3363 NE 163rd St #101, North Miami Beach, FL 33160
We hope you can join us. Thanks again to Zouk Mia for their incredible direction and coaching through our challenge. Kendra is an amazing teacher. People speak about attention to detail. I must say that her attention to the smallest of details at times makes her seem like she's psychic. It's like she knows when I'm not leading correctly, or when Zoe is not following as she should. I highly recommend Kendra as a teacher.
I hope this message finds you well, and that you realize that you have an incredible amount of infiniteness within you. All you have to do is tap into it.
